MRI
A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan is a noninvasive approach that uses magnets and radio waves to create images of the inside of your body. The MRI allows doctors to view details of your organs and tissue without any incisions. Unlike X-rays or CT scans–MRIs do not use radiation.
CT Scan
Computed tomography (CT) scan is a non-invasive medical test that combines special x-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce multiple images of the inside of the body. These cross-sectional images help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
PET/ CT Scan
A positron emission tomography (PET) scan is an imaging test that allows doctors to check for disease in your body. When highlighted under a PET/CT, doctors can see how well your organs and tissues are working. MIF offers the only fixed PET/CT services in the region.
Axumin ® PET/CT Scan
An Axumin PET/CT Scan is a diagnostic imaging study that offers the latest technology in the early detection and localization of recurrent prostate cancer. The FDA-approved, Medicare-covered diagnostic Axumin PET/CT Scan pinpoints the specific location of the cancer and provides insight into the disease process itself.
Bone Density Scan
Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg provides bone density exams known as densitometry with ACR accreditation. We offer the DEXA scan to identify if you have or are at risk of osteoporosis, in which bones become fragile and more likely to break.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a real-time, continuous x-ray digital image that is similar to an “X-Ray Movie.”  It is often used to diagnose or treat patients by displaying the movement of a body part or of an instrument or contrast agent passing through the body.
Interventional Procedures
Interventional procedures are minimally invasive treatments using radiologic imaging to guide the procedure. This has become the primary method of care for a variety of conditions, offering less risk, less pain and less recovery time, compared to open surgery.
Lung Cancer Screening
Our low dose screening program is designed to try to catch the lung cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage, thereby saving lives.  Annual screening programs, starting at age 55 years and ending at age 80 years, among current or former smokers with a 30 pack-year smoking history, detect 50% of lung cancers earlier.
X-Ray
X-rays are a painless, non-invasive procedures that allow physicians to see images inside the body to help diagnose a variety of conditions.  Our highly trained technicians ensure that  your X-Ray is both comfortable and convenient– you can walk in for an X-ray at all of our locations.
3D Mammograms
3D Mammograms increase accuracy by 35% and reduce call backs and biopsies for women of all breast types.  Offered at all of our mammography sites, these mammograms take only 30 seconds longer than transitional 2D mammograms and offer significantly better results

Mammograms
Regular mammograms are essential to a woman’s health beginning at age 40. The Imaging Center for Women provides results the same day as your exam for screening 2D mammograms.   Our highly trained staff help you make this important screening a priority.
Ultrasound
Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg provides ultrasounds with ICAVL ACR accreditation. Commonly used during pregnancy, ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to look at organs and structures inside the body, which bounce off tissues in your body to create images.
